Six steps from “we have a turnstile” to a lane that works.
Access control normally means a site survey, an integrator and a quote with a comma in it. This is a wizard in your settings that asks five questions, works out what your site needs, and produces the paperwork your electrician actually wants.
Site
Five questions: do you have a turnstile, what make is it, how is the site staffed, what network reaches the lane, and is there a wheelchair-passable route.
Tier
It derives what your site needs and shows its reasoning. You never pick — and if the honest answer is “you don't need this”, it says that instead of selling you something.
Install pack
A branded A4 PDF for your electrician: parts list, wiring sheet, the fire-circuit boundary in bold, and a photo request for the terminal block.
Lane
Name it, pick the location and direction, flag it if it is the accessible route, set the pulse length for your barrier.
Tablet
Type a pairing code once on the kiosk. It keeps its own token from then on — no login, no password on the front desk, nothing to leak when a staff member leaves.
Commission
Six recorded tests, written down as they are answered. One failure blocks sign-off. Nobody gets to tick “it seemed fine”.
Paperwork your electrician will actually open.
You download the pack and forward it from your own address — the one your electrician already invoices. A PDF arriving cold from a software company they have never heard of is a phishing-shaped object that gets filtered or ignored, so we don't send one. There is a paste-ready note to go with it, naming the two things most likely to go wrong on the day.

What we won't sell you.
Access control is the one part of a gym system that fails in front of a queue. Here is exactly where ours stops, in writing, before you buy it.
It needs your internet up
A scan is checked by our servers and the relay is fired over the network. If the line at that site is down, the barrier does not move and your staff wave people through. That is why the wizard asks how the site is staffed before it lets you buy anything.
Unstaffed sites get told no
If your gym runs unattended hours, the wizard refuses the standard setup and explains why, then offers to put you on the list for the always-on tier that verifies at the lane itself. We haven't shipped that yet. There is no “continue anyway” button, because a site that needs it would be the first to be let down.
We are never in the fire path
Nothing we install sits in your emergency release. It is in the install pack in bold, it is one of the six tests, and the installer signs their name against it. Your fire strategy stays your fire strategy.
A tripod lane can't be the only way in
The wizard asks whether you have a wheelchair-passable route, warns you if you don't, and makes you prove that the very same member code opens the wide lane. Nobody should have to ask staff for a key to get into a gym they pay for.
